Seven Hills Baroque (7HB) and the Flight88 Concert Series is excited to announce Baroque and Brews, a concert graciously sponsored by Flight88, a recurring classical music series at Urban Artifact – a church turned taproom in Cincinnati’s Northside Neighborhood!
This is going to be an exhilarating evening of Baroque music you really don’t want to miss. In just one hour, you’ll hear:
a tuneful trio written by an orchestral musician working in Austria’s Esterházy Palace under Joseph Haydn
gallant court music written for the ailing King Louis XIV, the Sun King, in 18th-century Versailles
a fiery Italian Baroque composition that took Europe by storm centuries ago - and is still used in movies and TV shows today
a solo on the viola da gamba, an obsolete but fascinating instrument used widely during the Renaissance and Baroque eras
a solo on the harpsichord, considered the “grandfather” of the piano
and more!
