2024-2025 Season

The Four Elements

Painting: Extensive still life of game in a landscape with classical architecture, by Peeter Gijsels (1621-1690), Dutch, oil on canvas

Seven Hills Baroque (7HB) is thrilled to announce our 2024-2025 season, “The Four Elements!” We warmly invite you to join us as we explore the ancient, enduring connection between music and nature through four captivating performances of Baroque music on original instruments.

Deriving inspiration from last season’s popular “Four Seasons with Seven Hills” concept, our upcoming season will also feature four concerts - rather than seasons, however, each concert will be inspired by one of the four traditional elements: earth, water, air, and fire. Concerts will feature Baroque music from the well-known to obscure, a piece featuring one of the four main voice types (soprano, alto, tenor, and bass), and a solo by one of four instruments which were not featured in last year’s programming.

Further, based on ample, valuable feedback we received from our successful 2023-2024 season, 7HB will continue to partner with local charities as well as host Q&As and demonstrations with our musicians at each concert!

Additional details, such as particular times, venues, and programming, will soon be made available here on our website calendar, our social media accounts (Facebook and Instagram), and through our email newsletter – use the form at the bottom of this page to submit your email address if you’d like to be added to our newsletter.

Mark your calendars with the following dates and find concert summaries below:

Earth: Sunday, November 17, 2024

Join us for music which evokes pastoral landscapes, warm hearths and windows, swirling leaves, and the repose and stillness which autumn brings. This concert will also feature a lute concerto written by our friend and frequent collaborator Chris Wilke!

Water: Sunday, February 9, 2025

Explore the movement and mystery of life-giving water through music: gently rolling rivers, tempestuous storms at sea, icy realms, and flowing tears of both joy and sadness.

Air: Sunday, March 9, 2025

Celebrate warmer weather and the oncoming spring with a program of music inspired by springtide winds, fluttering wings, stately dances, and the music of the spheres.

Fire: Sunday, May 11, 2025

Our season finale will feature music burning with emotion and power: fiery operatic arias, dazzling Baroque music from Latin America and Spain, and much more to end our season with a glow!

We cannot wait to share more beautiful music with the community this season, and we hope to see all of you at our concerts soon!
